Japan World Film Festival (JWFF) is an international short film festival and art event that brings global stories to live audiences across Japan. Held in urban Tokyo and rural Ibaraki (with past events in Nagano), we celebrate cultural diversity through cinema, blending world films with local traditions. As a traveling festival, we emphasize live screenings—no online streams—just the shared thrill of real reactions in intimate venues.
ジャパンワールド映画祭（JWFF）は、世界の短編映画を日本各地のに届ける国際映画祭・芸術イベントです。東京、茨城、栃木、長野の里山で展開し、グローバルな物語と地域の独自文化を融合させて多様性を祝います。旅する映画祭として、ライブ上映にこだわり、会場で息を合わせる本物の興奮を重視しています。
OUR VISION・映画祭のビジョン
Our vision is to connect the world through art, fostering understanding of diverse values and lifestyles. In Ibaraki’s countryside, we host not just films but also organic markets, local food stalls, and leisure activities like camping and nature walks. This creates a festival where movie lovers can immerse in international cinema while experiencing Japan’s rural charm—revitalizing communities and offering urban dwellers (from Tokyo, Mito, Utsunomiya) a refreshing escape. It’s a blend of cultural exchange, fun art experiences, and delicious organic eats, making it perfect for families, nature enthusiasts, and foodies alike.

OUR HISTORY・これまでの歩み
2025
Held in Hitachi-Omiya City, Ibaraki. Free entry drew strong crowds. First organic market in the city with the most stores ever, featuring local organic veggies, vegan cuisine, natural sweets — a huge success. Directors from around the world joined panel discussions, with the award ceremony highlighting global exchange and satoyama culture.
茨城県常陸大宮市で開催。無料入場で多くの方にご来場いただきました。 初めてのオーガニックマルシェ（最多店舗数）で地元有機野菜・ヴィーガン料理・自然菓子などが大好評。 世界各国の監督によるパネルディスカッションと授賞式も実施し、国際交流と里山文化の融合が輝きました。
2024
Expanded to Tokyo (Arakawa Ward) with outdoor screenings, attracting over 1,000 attendees. Blended urban and rural vibes, featuring discussions on diversity, workshops for youth, and local organic markets—revitalizing communities through art and leisure.
東京（荒川区）初開催でアウトドア上映、2日間で1,000人以上来場。都市と里山のバランスをテーマに、多様性ディスカッションや若者ワークショップ、地元オーガニックマルシェを実施—アートとレジャーで地域を活性化。
2023
In Ibaraki, over 550 attendees enjoyed global films, guest talks, and a citizen musical with 200 participants. Cultural exchange with Nagano, featuring organic food booths and nature activities—perfect for families seeking art, food, and relaxation from cities like Tokyo.
茨城で550人以上来場、国際映画上映、ゲストトーク、市民ミュージカル（200人参加）。長野との文化交流、地元食ブース、自然アクティビティを融合—東京など都市部から家族連れがアート・食・リラックスを求めて訪れるのに最適。
2022
Held in Tokyo, Ibaraki, and Nagano, drawing over 400 attendees. Workshops produced local PR films, combined with organic markets and camping vibes—offering a fun blend of cinema and rural leisure for urban escapees.
東京・茨城・長野で400人以上来場。ワークショップで地域PR映画制作、地元マルシェ・キャンプ風アクティビティを組み合わせ—都市部からの逃避行にぴったりのシネマと里山レジャー。
2021
Shinjuku World Film Festival has been renamed to JWFF, expanded to three venues with live screenings and food events. Celebrated diversity through films and local cuisine, attracting visitors from nearby cities for cultural immersion and organic experiences.
JWFFに改名(旧Shinjuku World Film Festival)、3会場でライブ上映と食イベントを実施。多様性を映画と地元料理で祝い、水戸・宇都宮など近郊都市から文化浸食とオーガニック体験を求める来場者を集めた。
2020
Postponed due to COVID, but planned for rural settings with safe outdoor art and food activities—highlighting the festival’s commitment to community and nature.

Debut as Shinjuku World Film Festival with 200 submissions. Featured global films and local food, laying the foundation for our art, culture, and leisure blend.
新宿ワールド映画祭としてデビュー、200作品応募。グローバル映画と地元食を融合、アート・文化・レジャーの基盤を築いた。

Established Shinjuku AT THEATRE, Japan’s first union theater—starting our journey of cultural events with films and community gatherings.
